North Leigh Cemetery
We wanted to make those who visit North Leigh Cemetery aware that there was a gravestone which was unstable/unsafe. The owner was not reachable, so the Council has taken steps to make this safe. If you see an area where a gravestone is lower in the ground, this is the one the Council has made safe.

Road works
Traffic Regulation Order 570 – Planned Start Date of 09/11/2026 Green Lane, North Leigh
Oxfordshire County Council intends to make a Temporary Traffic Regulation Order for a Road Closure on Green Lane, North Leigh, Oxfordshire whilst works are carried out by JN Bentley.
The Order is planned to come into force on 09/11/2026
The anticipated completion date is 04/12/2026.
Planning Committee meeting – 24th September
There will be a meeting of the Planning Committee on the 24th September 2026 in the Turner Hall at 7:30pm.

Temporary Traffic Regulation Order – S14 Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984
Temporary Road Closure – at North Leigh, New Yatt, New Yatt Road
A request has been received from Mott MacDonald for a temporary road closure to apply to a section of New Yatt Road, whilst essential rising main works are carried out.
A Temporary Traffic Regulation Order (TTRO) is being made to implement the temporary closure and will operate from 28 September 2026.
The estimated completion of the works is 23 October 2026, 24 hours per day.
(The maximum duration of a TTRO on a road is 18 months and on a footpath is 6 months, or until completion of the works, whichever is the earlier.)

MUGA (Multi-Use Games Area) Installation – beginning 14/9/26
North Leigh Parish Council would like to make residents aware that the installation of the MUGA (Multi-Use Games Area) at the Adventure Playground off of Windmill Road will begin tomorrow morning (14th September) in the morning.

The Council has learned that responses can be submitted by the 10th September for the Elivia Homes planning application. The planning reference number is 26/01882/OUT.

Meeting of the Planning Committee – 25th of August 2026 – Elivia Homes
The Parish Council has been informed that planning application 26/01882/OUT (Elivia Homes) has been submitted. The application is for the following:
Land To The West Of Common Road, North Leigh
Outline planning application for the demolition of a single dwelling (No.18 Common
Road), the formation of a new vehicular access, and the erection of up to 75 dwellings,
together with new public open space, a footpath connection to the PROW on Heath
Farm Lane, a pumping station and all associated works. All matters reserved except for
access (excluding internal roads).
The Planning Committee of the Parish Council will meet on the 25th August at 7:30pm in Turner Hall to consider this. All are welcome.
