The refurbished Multi Use Games Area just off Windmill Road was formally opened by members of the Parish Council today, ably assisted by Aaron Kightley a representative from Oxford United Football club.
This project has been a true labour of love, and seeing it finally come to life is a milestone for our parish. Numerous people have contributed to getting to this position. Thank you all!
A Multi-Use Games Area is more than just tarmac, fences, and lines on the ground. It is a dedicated space for our community to come together, stay active, and connect. Whether it’s for a casual kickabout, a competitive game of netball, or for our younger residents to safely burn off some energy, this facility belongs to all of us.
But we hope that this facility is just the beginning!!! We will be going out to the parish soon, consulting on how to use the large field next to the MUGA for the benefit of the parish. There are some things that we cant do, and some that wouldn’t be a good idea, but we have significant ideas for older children around pump tracks, or possibly a skate park and so we are gathering information on costs and contractors. And we wont forget those who would just like to sit awhile, so maybe some wooden seats too. . The Parish Council is working on signage which will have contact and other information.
Keep an eye out for information coming your way.
